Dr. Daniel Schrag
,
Director of the Laboratory for Geochemical Oceanography at Harvard, Director of the University Center for the Environment, and Professor of Earth and Planetary Sciences at Harvard University, a distinguished scientist, geochemist and paleoclimatologist. His passion is climate and climate change. As a paleoclimatologist, he reconstructs climates of the past to help solve climate puzzles today. As a professor of Earth and Planetary Sciences at Harvard, he teaches the next generation of students and scientists. As an geo-chemist and the Director of the Laboratory for Geochemical Oceanography at Harvard, he brings together all spheres of earth science in exploring the links between ocean circulation and climate. He also developed, with Dr. Paul Hoffman, the Snowball Earth hypothesis. As the Director of Harvard University’s Center for the Environment, he leads the university’s effort to create an interdisciplinary community of scientists, researchers, and students.

Dr. Kerry Emanuel, Professor of Atmospheric Science at MIT, world expert on hurricanes, and author of the newly released book, Divine Wind, The History and Science of Hurricanes, by Oxford University Press. His most recent research has provided new evidence of a connection between hurricane intensity and climate change.
