Excerpts from
"Climate Change
and Our Future"

This film features Dr. William Moomaw and young people discussing, in plain English, the science of climate change, its connection to human activities and energy use, and what is being done locally, nationally, and internationally to reduce carbon emissions. Dr. Moomaw presents, interprets and explains the evidence, using PowerPoint slides, while students respond, ask questions, and press for solutions. Additional slides and drawings are used to illustrate his points and the discussion.

Excerpts from
"Freeze, Freeze, Fry: Climate Past, Present, and Future"

Join an animated paleoclimatologist and geo-chemical oceanographer, Dr. Schrag, as he presents the latest discoveries on how the planet ticks, reveals how science works in the real world, shares his field work and that of others, and models passion, curiosity, and concern over the accelerating pace of global change. The science is enlivened by -- and made accessible to all audiences through -- field photos that “take you there,” charts, graphs, maps, satellite images, and original illustrations, all chosen to enhance the teaching and learning value of the DVD. Solutions are also discussed. Student and teacher interviews are part of bonus material. 48 chapter stops provide easy navigation and the ability to select from the two hours of rich content. Excerpts from
"Thin Ice -
Earth in the Time
of Climate Change"

This film features Dr. Paul Hoffman and young people discussing why earth has the climate it has now, what causes climate to change, how cold and hot it has ever been on earth (the evidence for his "Snowball Earth" theory) and field observations made in Greenland and Antarctica. Over fifty illustrations and images have been used to illustrate the science and discussion. They include maps, charts, graphs, original drawings, satellite images, photographs, photos from Dr. Hoffman's fieldwork, and animations. Dr. Hoffman also shares rocks from his field work with the students. The Classroom Encounter segment has forty chapter stops, one for each teaching point or question, so the viewer may navigate as he or she likes, spending as much or as little time on a question or clip as the viewer wishes.
