In the coming weeks, we hope to have two fully operational
forums accessible from this page, one for teachers and one for
students. Our goal is to give each group a place to communicate
about earth science, global change, and whatever they may have
learned from their face-to-face encounters with scientists,
in person or through the use of a DVD.
At the TEACHER
FORUM, science educators involved in the Classroom
Encounters series will be able to post or answer questions
from other educators on how to best teach global climate change.
At the STUDENT FORUM,
students are able to meet, exchange ideas, see each others'
science-inspired art and music, and to help each other identify
prime source material for homework and term papers. This forum
is moderated by responsible students, at least one teacher,
and occasionally a scientist.
As more and more students and teachers “encounter”
the scientists featured in the Classroom Encounters
series, we hope this online community will be come a diverse
and thriving resource of information and people.
